Garrick Consulting Engineers is an independent structural engineering consultancy based near Guildford, Surrey. We help homeowners, architects, developers, commercial clients and contractors turn ambitious ideas into safe, buildable and cost-effective structures.
Our team includes six Chartered Structural Engineers, supported by graduate engineers and experienced Structural Technicians. We work on projects ranging from extensions and new homes to major refurbishments, basements, schools, commercial buildings and complex structural alterations across Surrey, London and the South East.
We are Chartered Members of the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE). That expertise goes far beyond producing calculations: we work with the project team to develop practical solutions, coordinate the structure with the architectural design and provide clear information for construction.

Good structural engineering is not simply about producing calculations. It is about developing the right solution, coordinating it with the wider project and communicating it clearly so it can be approved and built with fewer surprises.
Our Chartered engineers work closely with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants to develop practical, buildable and cost-conscious solutions. We consider the whole project, not just individual structural elements, and use our experience and judgement to avoid unnecessary complexity, over-design and difficult construction details.
We use modern structural analysis, design and drawing software to assess options efficiently and respond quickly as projects evolve. For almost all projects, we provide detailed structural drawings in DWG format, giving architects and contractors clear, coordinated information and helping to identify issues before they reach site.

Our experience includes house extensions and structural alterations, new-build homes and residential developments, major refurbishments and listed buildings, basements and retaining structures, schools and educational buildings, commercial and industrial projects, and complex alterations to existing structures.
